This Privacy Policy describes how CVForge: PDF & Resume Maker (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects and protects your privacy. We are committed to complete transparency regarding our offline document architecture, device permissions, and third-party advertising services.

🛡️ 1. Offline Local Processing & Zero Document Data Collection

CVForge is engineered as a private, local-only document workspace. We do not operate external cloud servers for document or resume processing. All resume profile details (personal info, job history, education, skills, projects), profile photos, and PDF files (merging, splitting, compression, conversion, watermarks) are processed 100% locally on your phone’s processor and storage. None of your confidential resumes, personal details, or documents are ever uploaded, transmitted, viewed, or stored on external servers.

📡 2. Advertising & Third-Party Services (Google AdMob)

To provide all PDF tools and CV templates free of charge, CVForge integrates Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display advertisements. Google AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers and device diagnostic information to deliver, personalize, and measure advertisements in full compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.

Information Processed by Google Mobile Ads SDK:

  • Advertising Identifier (Google Advertising ID / AD_ID): Used for frequency capping, ad fraud prevention, and personalized ad delivery.
  • Device & Network Information: Device model, operating system version, general IP location, and performance metrics.
  • Interaction Data: Ad impressions, clicks, and rewarded ad completion events.

🔑 3. Permissions Used and Their Purpose

CVForge accesses only the minimal, standard system permissions necessary for document creation and display. We never request full-disk access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE) or background location:

STORAGE
Android Scoped Storage: Used to read PDFs you choose to open and save your exported resumes and documents into your public Documents/CVForge/ directory. On Android 13+, standard photo picker / media access is used.
CAMERA
Optional Photo Capture: Used solely if you choose to take a photo for your resume avatar or photograph paper documents for Image-to-PDF conversion. Photos remain 100% on your device.
INTERNET
Network Connectivity: Used exclusively to retrieve advertisements from Google AdMob and check for app updates. All core PDF and resume tools work completely offline without internet.

🗑️ 4. Data Control, Retention & Deletion

Since CVForge stores all your documents locally on your phone, you have complete, autonomous control over your data:

  • Document Management: You can view, rename, share, or delete any generated PDF or Word resume at any time from inside the app or using your phone’s File Manager in Documents/CVForge/.
  • App Data Removal: Clearing app storage in your phone’s Settings > Apps > CVForge > Storage > Clear Storage or uninstalling the app permanently erases all locally cached profile data, drafts, and recents.
  • Advertising ID Reset: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads at any time via Settings > Google > Ads.

👶 5. Children’s Privacy

CVForge is designed for general audiences and professionals (ages 13 and older). We do not knowingly collect or request personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to third-party ad networks through our app, please contact us and we will take immediate corrective action.

🌍 6. GDPR and CCPA Compliance

We respect global privacy frameworks including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because our core features do not transmit or sell any personal data or document content to external servers, your data rights are preserved by design.

🔒 7. Security

We take document security seriously. By keeping all PDF and resume processing strictly on-device, your sensitive documents are protected from network interception and cloud data breach vulnerabilities.
